Booking, payment and cancellation terms
Court booking, payment and cancellation terms and conditions from June 2, 2025
Valid for court reservations made through smash.play.fi from June 2, 2025. Read the bulletin on the implementation.
Booking a court and registering in the system
Court bookings are made at smash.play.fi. Booking requires registration with customer information: name, address, email, and phone number. For minor customers, guardian information is also required. Customers are responsible for keeping their contact details up to date and accurate.
If you have previously created an account in the play.fi-system, you can use the same credentials.
To book a court, click the "Varaa" (Book) link in the booking calendar. During your first booking, you must register and create a username. For future bookings, simply log in with your username.
Prices are in euros and include VAT. We reserve the right to change prices.
Customers agree to comply with the applicable booking, cancellation, payment, and invoicing terms at each location for every reservation.
My account (“Omat tiedot”)
You can view and edit your user account details under "Omat tiedot".
Booking confirmation
You can opt to receive booking confirmations via email during registration or in the "Omat tiedot" (My account) section.
My bookings (“Omat varaukset”)
Under "Omat varaukset” (My bookings), you can see your reserved bookings, cancel them according to cancellation terms, or put them up for resale.
Booking payments
Single-time court bookings must be paid immediately via online payment. Major online payment methods are accepted. You can also pay using Epassi or Smartum if using sports benefits, or with your account balance (saldo) at the time of booking.
If not paid immediately, the payment link remains active for 20 minutes in "Omat varaukset” (My bookings). After that, both the booking and the payment link will be deleted.
Payment of regular, fixed-time court bookings (“vakiovuoro”)
If you have a regular, weekly fixed-time bookings (“vakiovuoro”), you can pay them retroactively during the same month via online payment on the "Omat varaukset” (My bookings) page or at the Smash Center service desk before any unpaid bookings are invoiced on the first business day of the following month. An invoicing fee will be added to the invoice according to the current rate.
Payments can only be made at the Smash Center (address: Varikkotie 4, 00900 Helsinki) service desk during customer service opening hours, which may differ from Smash Center’s opening hours. Olari Tennis, Arena Center Myllypuro and Kruunuvuorenranta outdoor courts do not have payment desks.
Payment methods accepted at Smash Center include most major debit/credit cards and sports benefits Smartum-mobile, Epassi and Edenred-card. Cash is not accepted, and we do not accept Smartum paper vouchers starting from June 2, 2025.
Account balance (saldo) cannot be used for regular, fixed-time booking payments. You can use the account balance only for single court booking payments immediately at the time of booking.
If you pay for a regular, fixed-time booking in advance at the Smash Center service desk and later cancel or resell the session, the payment will not be refunded to your balance.
With an active regular booking, you may apply for a separate customer contract, which allows bypassing immediate online payment of single court bookings and paying them later during the current month either online or at the Smash Center. In addition, contract customers may also choose to make reservations through customer service. More information at https://www.smash.fi/pelipaikat/booking-and-payment-terms/customer-contract/.
Cancellation and reselling
Single bookings must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the reserved time. Within 24 hours, the session can only be put up for resale. Fixed-time, regular bookings cannot be cancelled but can be put up for resale. If a session put up for resale does not get sold, the original booker remains liable for the cost. Cancellations and resale can be managed through "Omat varaukset” (My bookings). Cancellation is not allowed within 24 hours before the session starts.
Online payments are not refunded. If you cancel at least 24 hours before your session, the payment is converted into account balance for future bookings. The same applies to successfully resold sessions. Read more in section “Saldo” (Account balance).
Cancellations within 24 hours are only allowed due to illness or injury, with a valid doctor’s note sent before the session to fite@finlandtennis.com.
Finland Tennis Oy reserves the right to cancel or move bookings when necessary, such as during tournaments.
Regular, fixed-time bookings are subject to separate terms, and full price may be charged even in case of illness or injury unless it lasts more than 4 consecutive weeks.
Account balance (“saldo”)
Online or prepaid amounts are non-refundable. Eligible cancellations and successful resales will be credited to the account balance.
The balance can be used for new bookings and ball machine fees, but not for regular, fixed-time bookings or reservations made via customer service.
The current balance is visible under "Omat tiedot” (My account) and during booking.

Student, unemployment and pensioner discounts
You must first register in the system and also begin making a reservation in order for your information to be saved in our location-specific smash.play.fi registry. However, the reservation can be left unconfirmed, in which case it will be removed from the shopping cart after 20 minutes, but the customer information will still be saved. A reservation that has already been paid for can also be cancelled no later than 24 hours before the start time, in which case the payment will be refunded to the customer’s balance, and the customer information will have been saved. After this, the customer must prove that they belong to the relevant discount group at the Smash Center customer service, where the entitlement to the discount will be added to their customer information.
Discounts apply to Smash Center, Olari Tennis (indoor only), and Arena Center Myllypuro bookings according to the discount terms, once eligibility is verified at Smash Center. Students must show a valid student card annually by 30 September.
